About Chattanooga Central:

Colors: Purple, Gold and White

Chattanooga Central High School is a public high school located in Harrison, TN. The original school opened in September 1907. The current school was opened in 1969 when the high school was relocated to Highway 58.

The Pounders were originally known as the Purple Warriors but during the 1930s a local sportswriter began to say that they often "pounded" their opponents and the name stuck.

Central is coached by Sam Montgomery who took over the Pounder's program during the summer when David Barger resigned to return to Lake County where he coached for several years before taking over the Central job three years ago.
