Indians Season comes to a Close.

Saturday November 7, 2009

The Sequatchie County INDIANS (6-5) season came to a close tonight in Dunlap in round one of the Class 3A state playoffs. Losing to York Institute (8-3) by the score of 28-16.

It however was a very good season for the Indians finishing 2nd in the District with back to back winning seasons for the first time since the 1996 & 1997 seasons. They played host to a home playoff game for the first time in 13 years (1996) and defeated the Marion County Warriors for the first time since 1990.

This team the coaches and players continued on from last seasons team by further advancing the rebuilding of this football program. There wasn't any game this season where this team didn't have a shot at winning.

The team ended the season with 58 on roster that should give them a returning number of 41 to start off with hopefully a good number of kids that didn't play this season will want to join the Indians for next season as well as a strong group of 8th graders will also come up.
