BREAKING NEWS:
The TSSAA Board of Control has officially approved the Division I regional football alignments for the 2015 and 2016 season.
One change was made to the new Region 4 that Sequatchie County and
Grundy County will be a member of. Alvin C. York Institute in Jamestown
successfully petitioned to be placed back in Region 4. The Dragons
were originally placed in Region 2 (Knoxville area)
So the Indians Schedule the next two seasons will have the following teams.
Region 4-3A
Cannon County (Woodbury)
DeKalb County (Smithville)
Grundy County (Coalmont)
Sequatchie County (Dunlap)
Smith County (Carthage)
York Institute (Jamestown)
Upperman (Baxter)
That
will now leave the Indians with (4) non-region opponents. Hopefully
they can still keep Bledsoe Co., Marion Co., South Pittsburg and add
Whitwell back to the schedule.
However I'm not sure you would want
both South Pitt. & Whitwell on the schedule with both being 1A
schools for playoff purposes I think adding one non-region game against
either another 3A school or more likely a 4A school.
I think
who ever will be in charge of putting together the schedule should look
at one of the teams from Region 3-4. Particularly one of the four I
have listed below.
Chattanooga Central (Harrison)
Cumberland County (Crossville)
Hixson (Hixson)
Stone Memorial (Crossville)
